Default Capping groups: I seriously hate people

I decided to join up with a PUG to try to cap Obsidian Flesh today.

Two PUGs later, I still haven't capped it. Mainly, because there are a select RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing morons that decide to:
a) leave, once they cap their own skills, thus weakening the entire team
b) leave, because they have DP caused by their own screwups
c) leave, once they cap their warrior and monk skills, thus weakening the entire team

This isn't just limited to today. Every time I've joined a capping group at Ember Light Camp, something always manages to go wrong with the group, whether it be (a), (b) or (c). Wonderful.

FCOL...it shouldn't be this hard to get one bloody skill. If I'm helping you get your skill, why can't you show enough courtesy to hang around and help me get mine? Sure, there are the few people that stick around even after your team is cut down to four or five...but by then, you're severely hindered in what you can do.

Yeah, it's as if I have nothing better to do with my time than to help you get your skill while I get nothing in return.

Riiiight.

I guess my biggest question is...it's only ember light camp, why the HELL don't you just take henchies? That's how I've captured all the skills I needed from that region. It's like a 5 minute deal if that.

Henchies > Cap groups. 5 minutes like PieXags said, if your boss is not there, you can rezone without fear of people yelling at you/not wanting to.

I got no problem capping with hench in Ember Light Camp region.

However trying to take hench thru Mineral Spring or Snake Dance is no picnic. I have found hench to be so darn stupid and weak that even if I do take them through those regions successfully, it takes way longer to do so than it would to do it with real people. Often to the tune of 3 hours or more per cap.

Then like the OP said, if you take real people they screw you over after they get their own skills.

Kind of a darned if you do, darned if you don't situation.

Devs should patch the game so you don't have to go all way thru Mineral Springs or Snake Dance to cap elite skills.

yea you can go with henchies. but I understand your feelings anyway... If you go in a group to do something it should be a group effort. not just once you get what you want, you take off and leave the others hanging... that's just uncool... and Selfish... But what else is new. Most people are that way in real life, so why expect them to be different in a game? I know some people personally that would rather shive you in the back rather then have to do something for someone, or owe someone something... Its the nature of the world today, such as it is... Its definitely time for Armageddon.. anytime your ready God... bring it on....

I've cleared all of Perdition Rock on several occasions with only henchmen. In almost every case, if you're looking to skill cap, henchies are the way to go. Mhenlo doesn't drop after capping his skill, Little Thom doesn't care what his DP is, and Lina never has to leave because daddy told her it was bedtime. :P

You can cap pretty much any skill in the game with henchmen. I can probably count the elites I captured with human beings on one hand, and I've only 6 Warrior Elites and 4 Ranger Elites left to capture.

The only time you might run into a problem is Iron Mines of Moladune's Mursaat side. At least, personally after the patch which they buffed Agonizing Touch damage (due to them making infusion work on your set of armor instead of individual pieces) the henchmen seemed to just break like balsa wood whereas they did just fine before the patch.

You seem to have missed the point that I was trying to make entirely. gg, Grotto squatter.

Agreed.

Guess I'll just see if people in the guild would be willing to help out with this...

Henches are the key. The only time I bother going into a team is TH Keep. It's just too much of a waste of time to bother with complete idiots in this game when your working on your 9th lvl 20 character. You so DON'T want to do a mission or whatever twice anymore by then.

I'm just trying to figure out why you'd whine about something, when you easily have the power to solve the problem...?

I mean RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO, that's like me shooting myself in the foot then complaining that it hurts like a bitch. Would YOU have any sympathy for me when I whined about it? Or would you tell me that I should've NOT shot myself in the foot, and done something else?

Lets make a list of our options.

I want to cap a skill.

I can either go with a skill capping group, with a low chance of success and a high rate of frustration and failure.

Or I can go with henchies, and easily go about my business and do what I need to do in a very timely manner.

Which am I going to do? If I choose the first option, not many people are going to sympathize and say "Yeah man, you totally should've gotten what you wanted, poodoo on everyone" when I later whine about my decision.

They're going to say, "...buddy do it the right way."

yes i seriously doubt that you actually need a full team of people to go cap a skill, especially in a place like ember light camp. if you do need another person, just ask a friend/guildy. in the event that you dont have one, find _one_ random person and keep it very personal, most of the quitters would never have the guts to do something like that in real life, so if you keep talking to them etc. they will most likely stay with you. i mean not everyone is an asshole yknow?

School. It is not funny nor cool to use the spelling "skool". It never was. Please, stop it.

In regards to the actual post, theres really not much more that needs to be said: Go henchmen. If you can't make it with henchmen, revise your tactics a little. Worst comes to worst, surely by now you've made at least one in-game friend you can have help you out...

one quetion I have with capping elites

I was suck on thunderhead my lucky friend had beaten it and decided to help, strangely enough when me and my friend are on a team we always seem to win. Anyways we got a good group pwned the missio and at the mursaat boss we got Perfect armor and we killed it and my friend capped its elite devistating hammer, however he had dwarfven battle stance on (which is an elite) he claimed it was still on with his new elite

What happens to your eilte when u cap another one does it disappear, stay or is it replaced???

you will have two elites for the duration of the time you stay in that zone

when you go somewhere else, one of the elites will be removed from your bar
